UNSAPONIFICABLES |
Due to the increasing demands in the market about not using animal origin products, an innovative product has been developed Phytolan is a 100% vegetable derivative which combine glycidic fractions of soy with shea butter unsaponificables which show some characteristics that are comparable to LANOLIN.
LIPIDS
The LIPIDS are biomolecules made of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen, physically characterized by not being water-soluble and being soluble in organic solvents. Lipids can be separated in different fractions with different physical characteristics and they can provide extremely well-defined compounds. - They balance the hydrolipidic mantle - They decrease the TEWL - They improve the emollience - They improve the skin and hair after-feeling
They are compounds which appear in small percentages in vegetable oils and they show some beneficial properties for humans. - Anti-inflammatory action - UV absorber action - Anti-aging properties
An initial comparison of both products gave the following preliminary results:

Subsequently more extensive comparative tests were carried out between lanolin and phytolan using different types of formulations. Products were applied on 10 volunteers and they were validated for panelists. The parameters that were validated are:
- Spreadability - Emollience - Silkiness - Adsorption - Moisturizing - Smoothness,

Phytolan is a 100% vegetable alternative to Lanolin USP with similar or better properties regarding to spreadability, after-feeling, structure, brightness, film-forming, water absorption capacity and stickiness. Due to the only and balanced combination of natural glycerides obtained from soy and shea unsaponificables fractions, Phytolan is an excellent vegetable emollient which can replace lanolin with demonstrated advantages.
